What would happen if all of a sudden every single road that we drive on disappeared? There would be millions of vehicles with nowhere to travel. Chaos would not even be the word to describe what would happen. This is why as a society we value roads so much because without them we would be extremely limited in where we could go.
Think of the congestion that would happen at sea and in the sky if there were no roads. UK flights would be backed up for weeks, if not months. Nobody would want to travel anywhere and we would all be forced to live close to major areas. This would inevitably cause a lot of population congestion because people would want to remain close to family and friends.
A world without roads is like a world without cars, we have to have both because it makes no sense to have one without the other. There would be a major strain on airports and airplanes and only the wealthy would be able to afford a seat on a plane.
Trains and boats would also be heavily affected. Everyone would be looking for the fastest route from A to B. Don't take your vehicle or the road you drive on for granted. Just think what a society would be like without one or the other.
