What we think about our roads. Articles and reviews:

Hit the Road Jack

It is always a matter of choice whether to take the motorways and the larger roads when making a journey, or stick to the smaller roads which some people feel are more full of character.

If you are on holiday and have just set off from your Lunar caravan dealer, then you will probably be in no hurry to take the motorways. After all, the purpose of a holiday is to relax and take your time and part of this experience is travelling to your destination.

If you are going long distance then yes, you might take the motorway so as not to lose time at your precious destination; but if not then try to take a few days and make a holiday of your journey itself.

It is amazing what you find on the smaller roads of this country (apart from impatient drivers and tailgaters!). You come across small and quaint villages that you would not even have dreamt existed; village shops full of organic meat, cheese and bread; and traditional old village pubs where you can stop for a half (taking care of course not to drink and drive).

You find small cottage industries and farms where you can pop in and buy the most delicious fresh fruit and vegetables, a world apart from the quality you often receive in your local supermarket.
