What we think about our roads. Articles and reviews:

Be Prepared

Whether you are stepping out to your local shops or driving on your annual holiday it always pays to be prepared. Many people assume that they are not going to break down – and to their utter dismay they end up trying to find a car battery when theirs goes flat or mending a wheel without proper equipment on the motorway.

A little preparation goes a long way. Firstly, it really is recommended that you take out a membership for one of the road assistance companies as this is bound to save you money in the long run. Be prepared to shop around to get the best deal and compare price – and terms and conditions – across the board.

Secondly, make sure that your car is in road-worthy condition and never neglect to book it in for its annual service. Prevention is better than cure.

Lastly, make sure that you always keep emergency items in your car at all times in case the worst does happen. A warning triangle, a fluorescent jacket, a torch, a blanket, a spare petrol can and some basic tools such as a car jack and spanners.

Don't forget to always take your mobile with you so that you do not have to walk to a telephone. Let's hope that you never need to be rescued after a breakdown, but it always pays to be prepared.
